The term law can refer to many different things. The general definition for the term 'law' is: rule of conduct set out and enforced by an authority. This is an extremely broad definition and can be broken down into unnumerable categories, some of the most well known include divorce, environmental, corporate, civil, governmental, and international. Laws are created in some governmental fashion and in a civil society, they are expected to be followed. These laws are enforced by an authority and when laws are broken the matter is judicated by an appropriate court. Penalties can vary according to the infringement and could lead to serious incarceration or merely a simple reprimand. Sometimes the laws can conflict, say between environmental law and corporate law. At times these two can come head to head in a battle over what is best and most prudent. Hopefully these matters can be resolved in a mediated fashion, but in most cases, where the government is swayed by lobbyists who are paid by the corporations, the environment can come out on the losing end of the stick. But without law, there would be anarchy and a civil society cannot exist without some sort of order. These laws are meant to protect the general public and law in general will always be a part of our everyday life. They keep us safe from predators and help guide our actions and intents in a popular way. Looking for California Health Insurance Quotes? Select your state:
