Transportation usually refers to the act of moving an item from one place to another and is commonly used when referring to either the transportation of goods or commuter transportation. And transportation can mean worldwide or could just be a matter of miles, either taking place on a large cargo ship or in the backpack of New York City bike messenger. Regardless of what type of transportaion is involved, insurance is a necessary. The carrier service business is a great example of transportation services provided on all levels. In some cases, cargo is moved from a small truck to a large trailer that can be place on a freight train, and finally is retrieved by another truck that delivers the cargo to the recipient. Large corporations such as FedEx and UPS also employ large airplanes to transport their freight from one destination to another. Commuter transportation refers to some different entirely. This is the act of transporting people usually to and from the workplace. Most large cities have some sort of transportation system in place. For example, Chicago has an interconnected run of tracks that form their elevated train routes as well as larger commuter trains that run directly from downtown to the outerlying suburb areas. They also have an extensive grid of bus routes all throughout the city and its suburbs as well. Their commuter transportation system is one of the best in the country. And so there are many things to transport. We have only touched a couple of the more often used terms of transportation and there are many other examples out there as well. In fact, there is a whole government bureaucracy built around the transportation industry and it's needs. Looking for Health Insurance Quotes? Select your state:
